Indulge

At Eastkirk, indulgence isn’t about excess — it’s about treating yourself to everything that’s real. Fresh island produce. A glass of something good. Long, slow meals that last until the light fades.

Taste the Island

Arran may be small, but it knows how to eat. From farm to sea to plate, everything here tastes that bit fresher, richer, and somehow more deserved after a day in the salt air.

Start the day with fresh pastries from Wooleys Bakery in Brodick — the same family bakery that’s been fueling the island since 1947. Or pop into Little Rock Café for brunch with a sea view (you’ll be in good company: half the island seems to do the same).

By afternoon, you might find yourself picking up supplies for a DIY feast — Arran Cheese Shop, The Butcher’s Deli, and the Arran Brewery are all worth a detour. Locals swear by the Arran Blue and the oak-smoked cheddar, which pair suspiciously well with a crisp island ale or a dram from Arran Distillery up in Lochranza.

Dine Your Way

If cooking’s your kind of indulgence, Eastkirk’s modern kitchen is beautifully equipped for both quick bites and proper island banquets. Cook with the windows open and the sea breeze drifting in. If it’s sunny, eat al fresco on the decking with a glass of wine and a plate of local seafood.

Prefer to be waited on? Treat yourself to dinner at Mara in Corrie — a short walk away and famous for its elegant dishes inspired by land and sea. Or head to Stag’s Pavilion in Lochranza, a relaxed fine-dining experience that’s well worth the drive. Just book early; island time may be slow, but restaurant reservations are not!

A Wee Dram (or Two)

No visit to Arran would be complete without sampling the island’s liquid treasures. The Arran Distillery in Lochranza and Lagg Distillery in the south both offer excellent tours (and generous tastings). For a local twist, stop by The Wine Port in Brodick for Arran gin, craft beer, and the best wine selection on the island.

Then bring your favourites back to Eastkirk, light the lamps, and toast to the kind of peace that only a Scottish island can offer.

Sweet Moments

Finish the day with dessert from Wooleys, Patricia’s, or Arran Ice Cream — we’d say share, but we won’t judge if you don’t.

Indulgence here isn’t about luxury labels or white tablecloths. It’s about flavour, freshness, and the quiet joy of good company in a beautiful place.
